Transformation in Christ Through Centering Prayer

About Contemplative Outreach

Contemplative Outreach of Eastern Ontario and West Quebec is a local chapter of Contemplative Outreach: an international and interdenominational network of individuals and small faith communities committed to living the contemplative dimension of the Gospel.

The common desire for Divine transformation is primarily expressed through a commitment to a daily Centering Prayer practice.

We are a small team of volunteers that offers annual retreats and weekly prayer groups across the region and resources through this website.

Our chapter encompases the communities of Ottawa, Kanata, Carp, Gatineau, Aylmer, Hull, and the Outaouais at large.

Immerse yourself in silence and deepen your practice with a one, two, and three day retreat.

An Ancient Practice in Modern Times

Contemplative Spirituality is an ancient Christian path to transformation, rooted in the wisdom of the Desert Fathers and Mothers, lived by the mystics over the ages.

The Centering Prayer method opens and deepens our awareness of the Presence, Action, and Grace of the Divine in our lives, and is rooted in the teachings of Fr. Thomas Keating and other Wisdom teachers such as Cynthia Bourgeault, Richard Rohr, and John Philip Newell.

"Be still and know that I am God."
